Bear in mind that if I don't post in between each player, that I may have to stop the combat and say what happens between things, as sometimes monsters have contingencies or traps or other things that are set to happen if attacked. It's not a big deal either way, but sometimes it might change things slightly and then a player will need to react differently for their turn or might want to. Also, in larger combats, if you don't wait to find out the result of a previous player's result, you might be attacking a creature that is already dead and not know it.

I'll post momentarily. :D

T'Sarreth's arrow plunges into the creature's shoulder. It lets out a howl as blood pours down its chest, but it mindlessly continues running at them as if the arrow were but a mere inconvenience. [Please note you actually did 1 point more of damage due to Point Blank Shot.]

A flash of light blinds him for a moment as it shimmers in the air then envelops him. Coils of energy arc across his body then fade as he reaches them.

With a speed that defies his disproportioned and awkward features, he slashes with his barbed makeshift sword at the pteryx with a hidden strength and blatant ferocity.

[Attack: 16; miss]

Klutarkes brings his katana up just in time to block the creature, but its crushing weight takes the breath out of him for a moment. Somehow he manages to pivot aside, letting the creature's weight carry it to his side where he positions it for an upper cut across its abdomen, spraying a line of blood into the mud. [Attack:17; 6 damage] To his displeasure, he notes that the wild-faced creature seems not to feel pain, or rather, does not slow down because of it. Recovering quickly, it prepares for a second attack, its frantic, fever-pitched voice louder than ever.

T'Sareth's Turn ...

T'Sarreth's blow strikes home. Blood seems to flow easily from the creature, but it does not seem to slow or weaken him, only make him madder. Now that they've gotten a good look at him, they notice that he seems to have been sewn in places, as if he's been through a number of surgeries, the likes of which they've never seen. It is almost as if some crazed doctor had come upon a scene of carnage with several bodies, took what was salvagable, and made this creature from it. Surely it had driven him mad, for there was no reasoning with such a creature, and it was in obvious pain, though no worse now than when they'd first laid eyes on it.

It tried to form words which came out in blurts as it drooled uncontrollably and shivered with anger and fear. "Muh ... muhth ... er ttold mme not to leave. She's gonnn na puh puh nish me. Ka kill meeeeeeeee puhleeeese!"

[Caide's turn ...]

Caide's eyes filled with pity, but he knew that any attempts to assist the pathetic creature would be in vain, and potentially fatal to he and his companions. With a silent plea to Yahweh to guide the poor creature to a peaceful rest in the afterlife, Caide draws his mace and takes a hard swing at the creature, an unfortunate, but necessary response to its pleading.

[[ Caide rolls a melee attack with his light mace 1d20+5,1d6=[15, 5], [1] and if the attack roll of 20 is succesasful, deals an earthshattering 1 damage. Let's hope the shockwaves from the impact don't cause the walls to cave in :) ]]

OOC: Cosmothea uses static damage; your mace would have done 4 damage plus your str)

[Hi Gicker. There are 3 rule books for Cosmothea (2 fluff with supplemental things like starships and techy gizmos, eventually, for the Udanax one and primitive weapons and magic items for the Xanadu magic one) and one big rule book. As I was laying them out, I became concerned right away that the core Players Guide would be too big, since it has everything you need to make your characters, except gear and there's so much gear when you include both scifi and fantasy ... so I moved such things to the theme books. I should have pointed you to the armor and weapons sections - I know it's all a lot to take in. Sorry! Hopefully everyone will find it worth it in the end!]
