Klutarkes glances back and says, "Actually, we just met him, but he seems nice enough." He races toward the pool. There is no way around it. "I can fly one of you at a time, but ... well, I'm not the best flier. You can swim it, but it's awfully cold. You can try jumping it." [Hey, Steve! The color pallette is a bit desceptive. There's a gray on there near the center of the pallette, but on my screen it looks olive. Fortunately, when chosen, it looks gray on the post. Go figure. Anyway, the color is: #808080. You can also select any color you want, and simply change it to =gray and that works too, though it's a different gray color. Both work fine, and we use it for Out of Character info. I'll glance over your character again, but I have no problem with "winging it" while we get your character ready, if need be. It's no big deal. This version of the game isn't done yet anyway. My paragon doesn't have half of the talents he should have as I'm not done with the paragon career path yet. No worries.]

"I'll have to trust myself to your flight", Caide says with a bit of a nervous look on his face, but he then brightens and adds, "Though I dare say we have little to fear if Yahweh is with us. Shall he bless you with the skill and strength to carry me over, or deign to have us serve another purpose, I am ready. At the worst I will end up swimming anyway, and I doubt I could make such a leap, so let us attempt the flight, if you would be willing."

[[ I am not sure what kind of armor holy adepts can use, so that may affect what I do next. I doubt he could fly over with me If I was wearing heavy armor. Maybe I'll get a suit of leather armor to wear underneath it, for more practical terms, if indeed they wear armor at all.]]

[Holy Adepts can wear all forms of armor, though the heavy armors don't allow for any DEX bonus and also the metal in the heavy armors creates magical static, which interferes with spellcasting (we don't use the "armor is too restrictive" rule of D&D, as I never liked it, and mages and adepts don't need elaborate gestures - that's all show, so whatever armor you want. Caide has a DEX: 2, so it just depends on whether you want that to figure in or how high you plan on raising your DEX, etc. If you purchased the talent, Suppress Static 1, that ignores 2 points of protection from heavy armors, so you have no chance of failing when casting miracles, which means that if you were wearing scale armor, which causes -5 on your power attack rolls with miracles, if you buy Suppress Static 1, that penalty to attacks drops by 2, making your attack penalty -3. Now, if you bought heavy leather armor, which grants +3 DEF, then added your +2 DEX, however, you're still getting the +5 DEF the scale armor provides, but have no penalties. Suppress Static is really only helpful if you have no DEX bonus or want really good armor types.]

"There's no one I trust more than He, friend." Klutarkes said. He smiled, and though he has little experience carrying others, he has faith indeed, and takes Caide across without incident. [Nightwing, does T'Sarreth jump? If so, please make a skill check, if not, Klutarkes will offer to carry him.] Once across and on their way, they find they no longer hear the cries of the tiny nehi, though they recall the approximate direction and Klutarkes makes no attempt to move silently when they reach the field of bones. Rushing into the griffon's den, he looks around, but does not see the nehi anywhere.
The only other location left to check is the unexplored tunnel leading down into the darkness before them ...

"I've seen you fly. I'll take my chances." T'sarreth says to Klutarkes with a smile. He steps backs runs and leaps. Unfortunately, he didn't make the leap (Rolled a 7), and splashed in the water, and swam the remaining distance. He got out and dried himself the best he could. "Well...now you've seen me swim!" he says.

"Thank you for the ride, Klutarkes", Caide says with a smile, and then turning towards T'sarreth he says, "We'll get a fire going as soon as we find out what's happened to this nehi you befriended, we can't have you walking around caves all day sopping wet with freezing pond water, it's a sure way to catch a fever."

He takes a quick stock of the caves around him and then turns back to Klutarkes and T'sarreth,
"Well fellows, I suppose you should take the lead, as I know not where ye've been and not been. I have not been in this area at all. I can however provide some light if it would be of help."

[[I assume holy adepts have a light spell, if not I'll just whip out a torch. How exactly does spell casting work? Do I have a limited number of casts per day, do I know a limited number of miracles? etc. Also, I will go with the heavy leather armor, though I did purchase the supress static thing if I remember correctly. Maybe I will respend that, or save it for something added in the future.l Would that be ok? Caide does a lot of travelling so lighter armor would make more sense for him, rather than waking around in heavy metal armor through all sorts of weather and geographical conditions.]]

In Cosmothea, I’m calling holy adept spells “miracles”. I may or may not keep that name in the final product. I think Pippa suggested calling it “prayers”, but for now we’ll stick with “miracles” and see how we like it.

You can find the complete list of Miracle summaries HERE. Please note that I made a few lil changes here and there in the actual miracle descriptions, so it's a higher authority than the summary list. I'll need to go back and update the summary list with my changes next chance I get.

I’m currently working on the 2nd level Miracles, which I should have done in the next week or two, if all goes well. You can find the 1st level ones, including Light HERE. You’ll want to read the magic section when you get a chance and this weekend, hopefully we can that part updated for your character. I’ll make myself available to help over the weekend.

It is ok to respend the Static Suppression. I’ll eventually have more options in that section as well.

[[Ok, I will hold off on the light spell then. I read over the magic overview but only understood it partially I think. I'm not 100% clear on how many powers I get, and whether that number is in total, or for each level. I also wasn't sure how the bonus worked for powers when your primary is greater than the power level. Is it as follows... ?

Primary: Wis 5
Powers Known = 2 + 5
Level 1 Powers known = 7 + 2 (Primay is twice the value of 1)
Level 2 Powers known = 7 + 2 (primary is twicew the value of 2)
When I have level 3 = 7 + 1 (Primary is greater than but not twice the value of 3)

Or is it

Total Powers known = 7
+2 level 1 powers
+2 levels 2 powers
+1 level 3 power

or is it

Total powers = 9
2 base + 5 wis + 2 (primary greater than twice highest power level (2))

If it's the last what happens when I gain level 3 powers, do I lose one power? Also how do I gain new powers as I level up in that case?

Also how do I know if a power uses a power pool point or a simple power point? Complex vs. Simple effects?

Thanks]]

Feel free to use the miracle, Light. However, it is only a minor miracle - and those are unlimited use. Let me review the rest of this (I'm a tad busy right now) and I'll respond shortly.

This discussion should not take place here, Steve, but in the OOC thread. Please use it for out of character. Thanks! I posted there.

Checking the adjacent tunnel to the Griffon's lair, they heard a tiny squeal. Investigating, they found a narrow, but very deep crevace, and there was a feint glow of light filtering up to them. Midway down, perhaps 15 feet, was the nehi. His foot was stuck and he couldn't get it free. He seemed out of breath and was bleeding badly on his left elbow and chin. "I slipped!" He said in a small voice. Around him, were tiny flecks of gold poking showing through the rock, making the crevace glow slightly, where the light touched them. "My foot. I can't" wham! He paused, striking the surrounding rock with the butt of his dagger, "get" wham! "it" wham! "freeeeeee!!!!!" he yelped, finally breaking free, tumbling down and out of sight. It became very quiet. Tendrils of dust issued from the crevace. Somewhere far below, a light flickered, but they couldn't see anything ...
